Covid Part2

amie2195

Let me take you back a few weeks. To where I am sitting in my hospital bed. All hooked up to IV's , blood pressure cuff, etc. Waiting to head into surgery. This was IT!!!! I was going to get my life back!!!!!

It was all a bit weird from the start of me entering the hospital. The covid questions came up at the front desk as usual. I told him I was 10 days out and cleared for surgery. I was directed out back to registration. The woman their asked me as well about having covid. I explained I was 10 days out and cleared for surgery. This went on at every stop I made. I Finally made it on a gurney. Iv's placed, all questions asked and answered. Ready to go. When a doctor comes in and very calmly introduces himself, sits down and looks me in the eye. He tells me their is a problem. I am not 10 days out. I am only 9 days. Hospital policy is 10 days.

I asked the doctor if this meant my surgery was canceled. He told me he did not know but they were working on it. As of right now it was being put on hold.

It was a punch to the gut. I didn't know what to say. Usually I'd look to Kevin for his support but I was alone. I closed my eyes for a moment and the verse Jeremiah 29:11 came to mind : For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans to prosper you and not to harm you,to give you a future and a hope".

I opened my eyes and I was truly at peace with whatever the decision would be.

It has been one thing after another leading up to my surgery. It honestly all worked out up till now. So why not have faith that this may too be okay. If I didn't have surgery on THIS day maybe there's a reason and I just didn't know the reason yet.

About 45 minutes later the same Doctor came in. He informed me due to a very nice Nursing staff , the help of my Surgeon Dr. Rughani and all the Doctors, I'd be having Surgery TODAY!!!

I barley had a chance to call Kevin and tell him the news before they were wheeling me out.
